First off...Where have I been?

Writer: RocketGirlHarperRocketGirlHarper

When I first began this website and set up my blog, I hoped to cultivate a community of humans with the mindset of, "Let's go on this mission together". The steps toward the "Artemis Era" are well in the works. As I post this, SpaceX has led the charge in sending Americans back to space from American soil. This frees up more resource use for the Artemis program. NASA SLS boosters are currently headed to Kennedy Space Center. Northrup Grumman snagged a $187 million contract to build NASA's lunar Gateway habitat.

So...where have I been in the midst of all this excitement?

I can assure you -

I'm still focused on Artemis. I never truly left.

I live and breathe lunar dust. (Not really...the stuff *IS* cancerous) My research entails using lunar remote sensing data to make geological conclusions about the Moon.

The truth is, we don't know much about the closest celestial body to us. For example, why is the crust of the far side of the Moon much thicker than the near side? How did thorium-rich areas form on the Moon? Why are more heat-producing elements (such as uranium, thorium, and potassium) congregated on the near side? These are simply a few of the questions stumping the scientific community.

My point?

This entire time I have been consumed with Artemis-related research, but I made the mistake of not making time to cultivate that "mission-ready" community. I'm here now, devoted to building this Artemis Era community with you. An important note; we need everyone. We need the doers, the adventurers, the scientists, the business people (yes, the accountants, too), the artists, and those seeking to dramatically shift the human perspective.

We all go, or none of us go.

If you'll have me, I'm rebooting branding for our Artemis Era community now. Launch in 3...2...1...

Your Rocket Girl,

Harper
